WDO has been working in Tropeang Kes village, Kompong Speu province for 6 years. Before the organization came to the village, it was known as a place of violence and gambling. Arguments frequently erupted between husbands, wives and neighbours - domestic violence, drunkenness and debt were a way of life.

In 2001 a visiting pastor began to hold regular meetings in the village and two people started to follow Christian teachings. Initially they were persecuted by others, however when the WDO project began to work with the people in developing their ideas and physical situation, things started to change.

Previously people had said 'Oh I don't want to work hard, I want to play (cards) and stay at home', but over time there was a change of hearts and minds - people began to trust one another by cooperating together on different projects, they became diligent in finding ways to support their families and most importantly they now had a vision for the future about how to change their situation and habits.

Nowadays, Tropeang Kes has a group of 74 believers, they have recently built a new church where they come together for daily worship. Ming (auntie) Pock Porhn is one of the believers. She had a hard life bringing up 11 children, her husband was a heavy drinker, who beat and cursed his wife and the family frequently had money problems. At the time Ming Porhn was a leader of a gambling den - however her whole life has turned around and today she is a leader of the CCG!
