An elected board of five governors, holding legal responsibility for the organization, directs WDO. Board meetings are held on a quarterly basis and members are expected to contribute professional expertise relevant to the needs of the organization. All members are required to have a strong commitment to the Christian identity, values and ethos of WDO.

WDO is registered as a local NGO under the Ministry of Interior and has been issued a letter of Partnership by the Ministry of Rural Development.
